Solana Tokenized Stocks in 2026: Teams, Jobs and 24/7 Markets
Tokenized stocks on Solana hit new highs in 2026. Meet the teams behind xStocks, Ondo, Backpack and Superstate, who is hiring, and where investors should look.

Here's a number that tells you where Solana is heading. On the weekend of 10 and 11 October, while Wall Street was shut, more than $80 million of tokenized SpaceX stock changed hands on Solana, according to Backpack.
Stock markets keep office hours. Blockchains don't. That gap is turning into one of the most interesting business stories of 2026, and it's creating real jobs and real money for the teams in the middle of it.
Why tokenized stocks suddenly matter
A tokenized stock is a token that tracks a real share, usually backed one-for-one by shares held with a custodian. You can hold it in your own wallet, send it to a friend, trade it at 2am on a Sunday, or post it as collateral for a loan.
The idea isn't new. What's new is the scale. Birdeye's research team counted $3.09 billion of tokenized stocks across five chains in the week ending 18 October 2026, up 8x on a year earlier. Solana held $623 million of that, about 20%, in third place behind BNB Chain and Ethereum.
Third place sounds modest. I don't read it that way. Solana is where this whole wave started, it's where the DeFi plumbing is deepest, and it's where the newest launches keep landing first.
The teams leading the race
xStocks: the early mover hits $1 billion
xStocks launched in June 2025 with 60 tokenized US stocks and ETFs on Solana. On 28 October, its parent Payward (the company behind Kraken) announced that xStocks had passed $1 billion in assets under management.
That's more than four times the roughly $225 million it held in February. It now covers more than 1,500 stocks, ETFs and IPO tokens across the US, UK, Europe and Hong Kong, with over 550,000 holders, more than $45 billion of cumulative volume and over $100 million sitting in DeFi. It isn't available to US or UK investors, which tells you how much of this demand is global.
Ondo: the biggest catalogue
Ondo Finance renamed its product Ondo Stocks and now offers more than 450 tokenized stocks and ETFs on Solana, Ethereum and BNB Chain. It says it was first to $1 billion in TVL, back in May 2026, and that it now runs 24/7 minting and redemption for 25+ popular names like Apple, Nvidia and Tesla.
Backpack and Sunrise: real shares, two-way door
Backpack launched Backpack Securities in June with tokenization partner Sunrise. The twist is that tokens convert both ways: real shares in a US brokerage account become Solana tokens, and the tokens convert back to real shares, with dividends and corporate actions on the brokerage side.
Its big moment was SpaceX. SPCX went live on Solana on IPO day, 12 June, and Backpack says it took 91.7% of tokenized SpaceX volume in the first week. It now reports more than $5.3 billion of onchain volume and 430,000 token holders.
Superstate: the shares themselves on chain
Superstate takes a different route with Opening Bell. Rather than wrapping a share, it puts SEC-registered public shares on Solana directly, with the shareholder register kept compliant. Forward Industries' FWDI shares are live, and holders can borrow USDC against them on Kamino.
Securitize sits in the same registry-based camp, and is worth watching as more listed companies explore issuing shares on chain.
Where the money is (and isn't) yet
Here's the honest part. Most tokenized stocks are still just held and traded. RedStone's October report put DeFi use of tokenized stocks at only about 2.6% of issuance when you count lending collateral.
But Solana is where that's changing fastest. RedStone found the biggest chunk of stock collateral sat in xStocks markets on Kamino and Jupiter Lend, plus Superstate's FWDI shares in Kamino's Opening Bell market. Across all chains, DeFi deposits of tokenized stocks grew from roughly $15 to $22 million in January to around $250 to $313 million by September and October, per Crypto Briefing, with Solana holding about $87 to $96 million.
That gap between 2.6% and what it could be is the opportunity. Borrowing against your Nvidia shares at midnight, or using an S&P 500 token as margin, is a better product than anything a traditional broker offers. Somebody has to build it properly.
The jobs: compliance meets crypto
This is the part I'd pay attention to if you're job hunting. Tokenized stocks need people who understand both worlds, and there aren't many of them.
Ondo's careers board listed 24 open roles when I checked, almost all remote. They include a Product Manager for Stocks, a Senior Blockchain Engineer, solutions engineers in the US and APAC, security engineers, and a Compliance Manager for monitoring and investigations who needs to trace funds on chain and write reports that satisfy regulators.
Superstate is hiring staff-level backend, full-stack and infrastructure engineers in New York, according to its Lever page. The backend role asks for Rust and DeFi experience.
My practical advice:
- If you come from TradFi, your knowledge of settlement, custody, corporate actions and market surveillance is suddenly valuable. Learn how Solana wallets and lending markets work, then apply.
- If you're a Solana developer, learn the boring stuff: transfer restrictions, KYC flows, oracle pricing when markets are closed. That's where the hard problems are.
- If you're in compliance or legal, this is one of the few corners of crypto where your skills are the bottleneck, not a cost centre.
- If you're in BD or growth, distribution is the new battleground. RedStone noted six platforms now hold about 5% or more of the market each, so getting into wallets and apps matters as much as being first.
The investor view
For investors, I'd look less at which token wins and more at the picks and shovels. Every tokenized stock needs pricing data, lending markets, liquidity, wallets that display it properly, and compliance tooling. Analytics teams like Birdeye, which launched its institutional Birdeye Peak platform alongside that report, are positioning for exactly this.
Keep the risks in view, too. Most wrapped stocks give price exposure only, with no voting or dividend rights, so read what you actually own. Smart contract and liquidation risk is real in DeFi. And the rules differ by country, so plenty of products aren't open to everyone.
Still, a market that quadrupled in eight months, with major brokers, exchanges and Wall Street names now competing, isn't a fad. My view: weekend trading is the hook, but stock-backed lending is where the long-term value will sit, and Solana is well placed to own it.
