Solana Startup Funding in 2026: Accelerators, Rounds and Jobs
Where Solana startup money is going in 2026: Colosseum Cohort 5, fresh seed rounds, MetaDAO raises, open grants, and what it means for jobs and investors.

Here is the honest picture of Solana startup money in late 2026. Big venture cheques have cooled across crypto. But the small, early cheques that start companies are still flowing, and Solana is where a lot of them land.
That matters whether you want a job, want to invest, or want to start something. Early money today is next year's hiring wave.
The big picture: fewer mega rounds, plenty of seed deals
Galaxy Research's Q3 2026 venture report counted about $4.5 billion invested across 296 crypto deals. That is down 20% on Q2. Later-stage rounds took roughly 76% of the dollars, while pre-seed and seed made up 44.9% of the deals.
So most of the money goes to a few large companies, but most of the activity is small, early teams. That is where new jobs come from.
And Solana leads on activity. Cypherhunter's Q3 2026 tally had Solana as the most active ecosystem by deal count, with 21 deals, ahead of BNB Chain, Ethereum and Base on 14, 13 and 13.
My take: a cooler market is a good market for disciplined founders and patient investors. Valuations are saner, and teams have to show real users to raise.
Colosseum: the front door for new Solana founders
If you want to know where Solana's next wave of companies comes from, start with Colosseum.
The model is simple. You enter an online hackathon, and the winners are interviewed for the accelerator. Accepted teams get a $250,000 investment, made upfront through a SAFE plus token warrant, or Colosseum's STAMP structure for projects tokenizing through MetaDAO.
Cohort 5 doubled in size
Colosseum announced Cohort 5 on 29 June 2026. It picked 21 startups from the Frontier Hackathon's 2,857 submissions plus 112 from its rolling Eternal sprint. That is roughly double the previous cohort, with a 0.7% acceptance rate. The cohort pitched at Colosseum's first in-person Demo Day in San Francisco on 26 August.
The mix tells you where smart early money thinks Solana is heading:
- Payments for emerging markets: DashX (cross-border stablecoin payments, India), Stablecorp (business tools for remote founders paid in stablecoins), Mana (a neobank for the Philippine diaspora) and Zoneless (an open-source, USDC-based alternative to Stripe Connect).
- Real-world assets: ODL (discounted private equity and credit secondaries) and Housd (tokenized real estate debt).
- Trading cards and collectibles: JK Index, One Arena and Traded.gg.
- Prediction markets and agents: Senthos, Clawpump, Peaks and Flovia.
It is global too, from India and Indonesia to Germany and Argentina. You do not need to live in San Francisco to get funded.
What's next
Colosseum's fall competition, Crypto World's Fair, ran from 14 September to 12 October. It was the first Colosseum hackathon open to every chain, and it drew 2,973 submissions. There was a $100,000 Solana track, and Colosseum says its fund and accelerator stay focused on Solana founders. Winners and the next cohort are due in the coming weeks, so watch that list closely.
Recent Solana rounds worth knowing
Here are some October 2026 deals that show where investors are leaning.
Hylo raised a $1 million strategic round led by Solana Ventures, with Colosseum and angels including Helius CEO Mert joining in. It reports $1.7 billion in onchain volume and around 30,000 monthly users, and says the money goes to business development and marketing hires.
Multiliquid raised $8 million across pre-seed and seed, with the seed led by Polychain and Circle Ventures taking part. It does instant swaps between tokenized funds and stablecoins on Ethereum and Solana. Reports put the team at three people. That is a lean team with a lot of runway, and it will need to hire.
Imperial, a perps venue, raised a $1.5 million seed at a $15 million valuation, led by Foundation Capital.
Spout raised a $2 million seed to offer 0% interest loans against tokenized US stocks. Backers include Anchorage Digital, Solayer and Flow Traders, with Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal as angels. It is still on devnet and plans to scale the team.
The theme: money is going to products with revenue paths. Pure hype is a harder sell.
Community capital: MetaDAO and ownership coins
There is a second funding lane on Solana that does not look like venture at all.
MetaDAO runs public raises where backers commit USDC over a four-day window and receive ownership tokens. In October, holders passed a proposal to move about $1.91 million into a new ecosystem fund, according to 01 Resolved's monthly report. The fund plans $50,000 to $150,000 positions in raises of $50,000 to $300,000, with a focus on consumer apps.
It is early and bumpy. The planned curated raise for Over, an onchain prop trading firm, was postponed on 29 October while legal terms were finalised. Five smaller raises on Backable totalled about $819,000 in the same month.
For investors, this is real access to pre-seed deals that used to be closed to the public. It is also high risk. Read the terms, size small and expect delays.
Grants: one door shut, others open
A heads-up if you were counting on a quick grant. Superteam's regional Solana Foundation Instagrants, which paid up to $10,000 in USDG, show "Applications Paused" across every country listing, according to web3grant. No restart date has been published.
The good news is that other doors are open:
- The Solana Foundation offers milestone-based grants for public goods, plus convertible grants for projects with a commercial side. It says it has funded 500+ projects with $100M+.
- Solana Mobile, Metaplex, Nosana, Render Network and DoubleZero all run grant programs that web3grant lists as open.
Superteam is still the best place to find bounties and local communities, even with the grants paused.
What this means for job seekers
Follow the money and you will find the hiring. Some practical moves:
- Track new cohorts and rounds. A team that just took $250,000 or $8 million will hire within months, often before posting a public job ad.
- Pitch the gap. Hylo said it is hiring for business development and marketing. Many seed teams are mostly engineers. If you can sell, write or run community, say so directly.
- Learn the hot sectors. Payments, tokenized assets, prediction markets and trading come up again and again. Browse Payments, Real World Assets and DeFi teams.
- Show up in person. Breakpoint 2026 runs 15 to 17 November at Olympia London. Freshly funded founders will be there, looking for people.
What this means for investors
- Watch deal count, not just headlines. Solana leading on deal count is a sign of a deep pipeline.
- Use accelerator cohorts as a shortlist. A 0.7% acceptance rate is a strong filter, but it is not a guarantee. Do your own homework.
- Favour revenue. Teams that publish volume, users and fees, like Hylo, are easier to judge than teams with only a roadmap.
The short version: crypto venture is careful right now, and that suits Solana. Lots of small, real teams are getting funded worldwide. That is a healthy base for jobs and growth.
